Empowerment For Poor Women Of Through Livelihood Promotion

MSS with the support of KFb Austria started Empowerment of poor women SHG program in 2009. It covered 02 Panchayats of Biharsharif blocks in Nalanda district with an aim to increase the participation of poor and marginalized women livelihood local Entitlements , reduce violence against women, livelihood promotion, ensure enforcement of policies and laws to women’s rights and establishing linkages with government and other institutions for the effective realization of anti-poverty programs. Under the program, training of SHG women, formation of SHGs, Linkages and strengthen of SHG, awareness generation through mixed media activities and organization of workshops and seminars were undertaken. These programs have helped positively in sensitization of the target group as well as the other stakeholders towards the women’s issues and their socio-economic rights. In 2009- 20010, initiative was undertaken by MSS to 30 Groups Bank linkages to SHG and as a process to Credit linkages.
