Vocational Training Program

MSS with the support of Muslim Aid London, MSS believes that entrepreneurship can play pivotal role in fight against poverty, and hence is committed towards development of skill training among poor Muslim women and adolescent girls of Bihar. In pursue to this, MSS started vocational training for the poor rural &urban Muslim women and adolescent girls of Biharsharif block in Nalanda district with an objective to enhance the vocational skills of the target group, so that they may be involved in the mainstream of development. 145 beneficiaries were imparted training in trades like Ready Made Garments, Zari and Appliqué. As a part of the program, marketing skills were also imparted to them for their better commercial returns. The result is very positive and beneficiaries are now beginning to earn through these trades. This has brought a significant change in their living standard. Information was also provided to the trainees in availing loans and subsidies from banks and financial institutions like SIDBI, NABARD and RMK to start entrepreneurship activities.
